Making Maternal Mental Health a Priority
Feeling insecure, anxious or overwhelmed? Or maybe things aren't going as planned? You felt exhausted and overwhelmed after birth. Maybe not flooded with love? You don't feel the joy or connection that you anticipated or that everyone sold to you?

It's okay. You are not alone. I can help.
Postpartum depression is the most common complication of childbirth. A new baby comes with celebration but there can also be sadness, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and feelings of guilt or shame. These feelings are common, temporary, and treatable. I have the specialized training necessary to treat postpartum mothers.

Hi, I'm Dr. Watson
I am a licensed psychologist in private practice in Buffalo, New York. I have worked in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings including hospitals, a veterans affairs medical center, and mental health centers. Before starting my private practice in 2016 I was the clinical manager for one of Buffalo Psychiatric Center's outpatient mental health recovery centers.

I am an experienced therapist who uses an integrative approach in psychotherapy. My style is directive and challenging as well as empathic and understanding. I often start with a strengths based, cognitive behavioral approach, including dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness. However, I also incorporate interpersonal and psychodynamic models as I find they provide the greatest, and most long-lasting results.
